Surface Grading Detail

Exterior surface levels are supposed to be significantly (usually 1-8” depending upon location etc.) below the level of the building’s floor, door thresholds and foundation mud sill. These parts of a building are not usually constructed to be able to keep out water held in this area and this very often leads to leaks and damage.
